I have been asked to reccomend places to visit in Berlin. That's why from now on I will have a series of posts on the blog, named BERLIN FAVORITES, showing you guys my favorite places. Today I have one for the parents out there: Zuckerschnute, a kids-café.

Zuckerschnute is a kids-café on two floors with lots of toys, books and fun for the little ones. They have a good selection of kid-frendly foods, coffee drinks, cold drinks and home made cakes and waffles. Berlin has many kids-cafés, but this one is one of my favorites. The place is always clean and warm and has friendly staff and great service. An example from today when Big Sister L managed to spill her juice all over the floors, exactly two seconds after it had been served (and I must admit I wanted to sink into the floorboards like the juice) -"no prolem, we can fix that!" the lady said to her, before she cleaned up the mess and brought L a new (free) juice. Talk about kid-friendly!

Upstairs, Zuckerschnute has a play kitchen, lots of books, trains and building bricks. Downstairs they have a climbing area, air hockey and a play-supermarket. The whole cafe has floor heating, which is super nice for the littlest ones that crawl around on the floors.
My girls love this place, and I love that the place offers free w-lan.

The only negative thing about this place is that they are a bit too popular and crowded most of the time. Today they were throwing a private kids birthday downstaris so i didn´t get any photos from that area. That´s why we usually try to go in the weekdays before 15.00.
I reccomend parents with kids to check out this place if you´re in the neighborhood. It's very worth the visit!

Let me know if you have any special requests for more BERLIN FAVORITES -posts.
Ciao!

0 The Coffee Song

Today's cup of love
I have one new years resolution this year: Find one thing I am thankful for every day. Whether it is big, small, important to all of human kind, or just me, -I will think on it, write it down, or even share it with you guys. Today I aldready found something! Dear Lord, Mother nature, Oh great Spirit, Fate, Destiny or which ever of you it is that is not on a coffee break and listening:
Today I am thankful for COFFEE.

Now, in all seriousness: I am truly grateful for this cup of coffee. God knows that the farmer who farmed the beans probably didn't get his fair share for it. (Should really try to buy more fair trade espresso..) A cup of coffee or a good cup of tea is something one might call "small things", but really people, it's not a given. Not everyone is lucky enough be able to get up in the morning, in their safe home and make them selves a cuppa in peace. And to be able to listen to Frank Sinatra while you drink it is just pure luxury. Ridiculous luxury.

What are you thankful for today?
