2 MAKER PARTY with JEWEL & WOOL

What a night!

This post will be in english - for my MAKER PARTY friends.

So last night I was invited to MAKER PARTY at Betahaus in Berlin.
First of all: The Betahaus is an incredibly cool concept I have to tell you about.

Basically, it's a coworking space for creative minds to work side by side. They host events, workshops and also rent out workingspace for crafty makers and designers. Just imagine a gigantic space that feels like a mix between a cool relaxed café,(oh yeah, they sell foods and drinks too!) a comfy home office, and a university campus.
-HEAVEN in other words.
So the concept of the MAKER PARTY was, let's put it simply -to make stuff and have fun. Crafts and design united in a lovely mess of open design and crazy creative people!

So, at around 9PM I arrived at the party and I was overwhelmed. There was so much MAKING going on everywhere that I had to sit down for a second to take it all in.

The Betahaus was FULL music, lights and different creative stands where one could learn about a craft such as knitting with JEWEL&WOOL (by the lovely scientist-gone-designer Dana), see how Stop Motion Videos or 3D printing works, make your own unique party look from recycled materials and much much more!

There was so much to see, and so much to photograph.
To begin with, I knitted a few rows at JEWEL&WOOL's stand. This stand was very popular and people were excited about the chance to learn such a traditional -yet ever trendy craft.

Some of the other activities at MAKER party were:

HUGE CANVAS: PAINTING THE NAME OF SOMETHING THAT HAS INSPIRED YOU

REVIVAL: PIMPING YOUR OLD GARMENTS

TAPE OVER: LIVE TAPING PREFORMANCE &VIDEO MAPPING EXPERIMENT BJAQUES-ANDRÉ DUPPONT

This next one blew my mind:

THE TIME HAS COME: 3D PRINTING!

LIKE MAGIC: THE RESULT -octopussy...

AWESOME PRINTS: SCREEN PRINTED TEXTILES BY SNUG INTERIORS

CARDBOARD UP-LIGHT: DIY LAMP BY PIERRE GUIBERT
EXPRESS YOURSELF: CREATIVE PHOTOBOOTH MADE BY KAY STRASSER
Now this last guy with the photobooth was just so funny. Dana and I had our picture taken by him in his booth, the two of us sharing a seat on this spikey chair:

You can probably understand that I'm excited to see the pictures from that booth....

Tired babyMaker last night

I want to send a special thanks to JEWEL&WOOL for the invitation and the cozy knitting experience. Everyone should know how to knit! You can check out J&W-workshops here

I have a bout a million more photos from the party, but this will have to do for now. Thanks everyone at the
MAKER PARTY and Betahaus for an amazingly entertaining and inspiring night! Let's do that again soon?!
